Functional Laboratory Test Kits

Functional Laboratory Test Kits are provided as a wellness resource to our patients to further investigate the root causes of their health concerns, correctly diagnose their problems and customize a treatment that works!

How do I complete the labs tests that are done at home?

Functional test kits will be mailed to you once ordered and paid for. You can complete them in the comfort of your home. Any functional tests kits you receive will have instructions along with them and or you will be given additional specific instructions for completing the test. The kits are pre-paid so you will not have to submit payment along with the test.

The kits will include mailing instructions along with pre-paid FedEx or US Postage. You will be able to mail them by drop-off or schedule a pickup or drop-off with FedEx.

It is very important to mail the samples close to the date the sample collection was completed as possible for best results and maintaining specimen integrity usually ideally mailing specimens the day they are completed or within 24-48 hours, making sure that they are stored as recommended in the instructions.

It is also vey important to complete the requested test information on the form as accurately as possible such as date final sample is collected, volume collected, dosage and amount of any compounded medications taken before the test such as DMSA, as well as your personal information name, date of birth etc. You may leave the section on payment blank since tests have been prepaid.

Most functional tests are not covered by insurance and in the cases where there may be partial insurance coverage that is not guaranteed the labs require partial payment and if insurances do not fully cover your test you will be required to pay the full listed test amount which is much higher than the doctor allowed repaid amount.

For these reasons in our office tests are prepaid with the advantage of lower prepaid costs that include the lab, kit and interpretation of the test.

Nutritional Supplements

High quality nutritional supplementation especially when prescribed by a Functional Medicine Physician after thorough testing, identifying deficiencies and health problems that can be improved with supplementation, that are research based and targeted, are an integral part of healing and maintenance of ongoing optimal health.

Below are some answers to commonly asked questions about nutritional supplements and more information for you regarding the importance of the sourcing and quality of supplements when it comes to your health and expecting positive and predictable health improvement results.

Where should I purchase Health Restore supplements

You can purchase supplements through the Health Restore online store, by calling the office or ordering by email.

Although you may purchase outside supplements its important to note that unless specified those are not recommenced by he practice for the reasons outlined below.

We can only stand behind Health Restore Supplements because we can count on the manufacturing techniques, clean ingredients and reliable clinical benefits and outcomes, we can not vouch for random supplements advertised in the marketplace nor expect the same clinical health benefits or results.

This is because most supplements in the general marketplace do not practice good manufacturing techniques and include undesirable fillers and ingredients and are not formulated with consideration to bioactive constituents, dosages or synergistic ingredients that potentiate the beneficial effects of the supplement as Health Restore Supplements are.

Why is it critically important for getting the best health benefits and clinical outcomes to purchase your supplements from the most reliable sources?

Just because a product is heavily advertised or has great packaging, label or sleek designed website does not necessarily make its contents or manufacturing techniques reliable or its states benefits factual, dependable or beneficial for health.

Buying quality supplements from the right sources is crucial to getting outstanding clinical results and actually improving health because unlike pharmaceutical drugs, supplements are not regulated by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). It is therefore critical to know that the manufacturing sources behind the scenes are reliable and ethical. The supplements I carry and stand behind in my Health Restore formulary have very strict manufacturing criteria and adheres to Good Manufacturing Practice standards.

When choosing supplements it is important to be careful and weary of third party vendors, online sellers and especially big box retailers. Many supplements in grocery stores, big pharmacies and those advertised online contain fillers, allergens and even toxins and carcinogens. It’s also important to know that what is advertised on a label or product websites does not guarantee quality, actual ingredients or purity of the actual ingredients inside the supplement.

My Health Restore supplements are directly received from the manufacturer and quality control is guaranteed. Purchasing quality supplements from the right source is critical and becomes crucial to obtain the highest-potency, effective, synergistic, pure nutrients.

When you obtain your supplements that are Doctor approved, you can rest assured products are guaranteed to be safe, effective, allergen free, toxin free, research based, effective and targeted.
Most of these products I have hand picked, chosen, used myself and clinically studied and seen the benefits clinically in hundreds and hundreds of patients. My Health Restore products are supplements that I have vetted personally, stand behind and rely on their dependable positive clinical results.

Why Buy Health Restore Supplements?

When you invest in your health through Health Restore products you can rest assured that you will actually know exactly what you will receive since all our products are rigorously tested and 3rd party tested and verified.

Surprisingly, there is no FDA regulation for nutritional supplements, meaning the supplement industry is not regulated. This means that each manufacturer, as to their good will, has the responsibility to deliver quality supplements that actually contain nutrients, in the stated amounts, and are free of harmful ingredients. Unfortunately the supplement industry is filled with low quality supplements, most of which contain harmful ingredients, additives, fillers, dyes, GMO’s, and other toxins that are actually hazardous to health.

The very same poor quality supplements can be packaged professionally and advertised rigorously and sold at local pharmacies, stores and online.

Every supplement I carry and recommend in my store has been 3rd party tested for purity, quality, potency, and composition and received the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) seal. We guarantee that each of our formulas is 100% compliant with the ingredients listed on the label, meets or exceeds GMP quality standards, and undergoes rigorous testing.

Knowing this you can rest assured that what you are getting is safe, effective and nourishing and includes exactly what is stated. All of my Health Restore Formulas are Pharmaceutical grade, high-potency, synergistic supplements that maximize effectiveness and value. This means that not only has the product been manufactured under GMP (good manufacturing practices) conditions and is safe, pure, and effective but they also contain higher amounts of nutrients and those nutrients that are used work synergistically together in order to maximize effectiveness and positive health outcomes.

It also means that often you are getting more value for cost based on cost per unit since Health Restore supplements are more potent per capsule or per gram. For example, if you look at a supplement such as my BioActiv B Complex Supreme or Therbiotics Supreme Daily DF or Ultra Vitamin D/K 10,000 you would need to take multiple capsules sometimes half a bottle of certain supplements to get the same potency as contained in one capsule of the Health Restore supplement.

Being that I am a physician who also applies the principles of Orthomolecular Medicine to my practice, my Health Restore supplements are more potent and use the bioactive form of nutrients in the supplements whenever appropriate. The science of Orthomolecular medicine is based on using the correct forms of vitamin molecules in the correct amounts based on the body’s biochemistry. You may not have known that vitamins have active and inactive forms and in some patients the inactive forms of the vitamins (which are the forms frequently used by most nutritional supplement companies are not only ineffective for many patients but can actually be harmful to some patients like those with the MTHFR DNA Mutation as one example.

My Health Restore supplements are free of harmful toxic ingredients and do not contain gluten, dairy, soy, GMOs, preservatives, or dyes. Think about it, most of you who are here take your health seriously and pay attention to the foods you eat and their ingredients avoiding toxic and inflammatory foods such as foods with dyes, preservatives, GMO’s, gluten etc. Why should you be getting a dose of these toxic compounds in your daily supplements. Most people may not realize that toxic ingredients may even be in nutritional supplements but as discussed above and being that there is no FDA regulation this is often the case.

My products are rigorously tested and in assuring the purity, strength, and composition of all Health Restore products each finished product has the following performed prior to being released for distribution:

  • Label Claim Verification – Each active ingredient is verified to be no less than 100% of the amount claimed on the label.
  • Microorganisms – Must meet United States Pharmacopeia (USP), American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), and/or National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) acceptance criteria for dietary supplements.
  • Heavy Metals – Most products are required to meet USP acceptance criteria for dietary supplements. Where feasible, others must meet California’s Proposition 65 safe harbor levels. • Physical Characteristics – Capsule/tablet weight average and weight variation, disintegration, organoleptic testing, scoop testing, etc.
  • Reasonably Anticipated Contaminants – In certain finished products, testing is done for contaminants that have a slight possibility of ending up in the product.  For example, due to the processing of pea protein and our assurance that all of our functional foods are gluten free, we test each and every lot for gluten to confirm it meets the FDA’s recently finalized definition for “gluten free.”

Note that this level of testing IS NOT THE NORM in the nutraceutical field or supplement industry. Our testing goes BEYOND FDA REQUIREMENTS to assure you are getting the best quality supplements out there and to help assure effectiveness, quality, purity and clinical outcomes for you. There are a few incredibly rare exceptions where products contain trace amounts of dairy or egg because of the way they need to be formulated, however they are clearly marked on the product page and are in such low quantities that even my very sensitive patients typically have not had a reaction.

The Supplements I formulate and recommend not only have have the highest quality ingredients but the ingredients are synergistic meaning they often work together to improve effectiveness ad are in the form that is best used and absorbed by your body. The form vitamins or minerals come in is very important as to its effectiveness or whether or not its even absorbed by the body or able to be utilized. This is something supplement companies hope you do not know or pay attention to since most supplements and companies even ones used by some doctors, pharmacies, and popular brands are not in their bioactive or best ab-sorbed form.

You can rest assured that my formulas are always in their most bioavailable and best absorbed form for optimal clinical improvement and outcomes. I have personally screened and used each formulated product in my store.

Not only have I assured that every Health Restore product is researched, and vigorously tested, I have personally used and clinically worked hundreds and hundreds of patients using the products and assessing and following clinical outcomes, and patient improvement, to identify which products are most effective.

Innovations in the neuroscience of wellness. The Gisburne Harr Institute has developed an approach to chronic and neurodegenerative conditions that utilizes the body’s own reliable and predictable ability to optimize and positively change when presented with the right conditions. The approach is the result of 7 years of extensive analysis of research within the fields of neuroscience, neuropsychology, neurophysiology, etc. What recent research has provided is a specific understanding of the mechanisms of learning and change that allow practitioners to target problematic areas of brain activity, perceptual schemas, behavioral activity, emotional functioning, and physical states and to pair this knowledge with the modalities best suited to reverse entrenched conditions. From the beginning, we set out to find the most efficient and effective ways to access and activate the unconscious programming, release the traumatic elements of it, and return the body to its inherent healing ability.
